What to do?

I used Malwarebytes on my clients. Download it here and install, update and run a ‘Full Scan’ on your every drive.

Note:  I recommend running Full Scan on SAFE MODE.

• Cleaning at the same time Optimizing

• Install windows updates and patches

Updating your windows will decrease your risk of getting infected to viruses/malware etc, it automatically search for an updated driver for your devices and thus improve overall system performance and the stability of your computer to operate optimally.  

Why it can dramatically speed up your internet connection? Installing an updated driver for your NIC (Network Interface Controller) known as LAN Card can speed up your internet.

Enabling windows update – Windows XP

By pressing Windows Key + Break will show up System Properties.

Or, Right Click ‘My Computer’ then click ‘Properties’

In the System properties go to ‘Automatic updates’ TAB and set to ‘Automatic (Recommended)

Windows 7

Repeat the instruction same on windows XP except on the third line.

Note:

You can change the way on how windows can install updates.

Automatic – For typical user

Check for an update but let me choose whether to download or install – For advance user, I prefer this to be checked than ‘Automatic’.

Just set it to Automatic if you don’t know what you are doing

Never Check for updates – User who really doesn’t care.

Firefox, Internet explorer, opera and Google chrome 

In order to improve security you may choose Firefox or chrome. And basically by improving your browser security is less vulnerable to hackers that exploit your pc and may cause slow down or data corruption.

Tips to browse safely using Firefox: 

In the Menu Click ‘Tools; then click ‘Options’

In the Options click ‘Privacy’ Tab

And set to ‘Never Remember History’

Press ok.
